The City of Langley is a municipality in the Greater Vancouver Regional District, or Metro Vancouver. It is located about 40-minute drive east of downtown Vancouver.

Situated in a coastal temperate rainforest zone, Langley enjoys a mild climate similar to Vancouver’s. Average summer daytime temperatures reach about 20°C/70°F, and winter temperatures are closer to 2°C/35.6°F. Langley gets about 1,800 hours of sunshine annually, and the average annual rainfall is 140cm/55in.

Downtown Langley is pedestrian oriented, with Fraser Highway going through the downtown being reduced to a single lane of traffic in one direction. This stretch is often referred to by residents as “The One-Way” and is lined with restaurants and shops, making it a popular retail centre in the city.
