If you want to take care of your clothes and prevent any damage while moving then you should get wardrobe boxes. Such boxes are specially designed for hanging clothes in a closet.

Moving clothes can be a challenge. Folding clothes to fit in a suitcase is time consuming and wardrobe boxes can really help you with that. Such boxes are just a small version of closets. If you have a closet full of clothes then you might need couple wardrobe boxes.

Wardrobe Boxes for Moving - Moving Clothes

Wardrobe boxes can be used not only for clothes, but also for packing bulky lightweight items such as blankets and pillows. If you have hired a moving company, ask them about the dimensions of wardrobe boxes that they will be using. Once you know the dimensions, open your closet and try to estimate the how many boxes will be required to pack and move your clothes.

Tip: Don’t Fill in Too Much Weight

While packing clothes and other items in a wardrobe box make sure that you do not pack a lot of items that are heavy. If you store dumbbells in a wardrobe box there is a good chance that they will break the box by making a hole through the bottom. Wardrobe boxes are weakly built and are only capable for packing some lightweight items.

Prepare a Packing Strategy

It is always a good idea to pack wardrobe boxes couple days before your move. Many moving companies are kind enough to provide wardrobe boxes before their clients’ moving day.

If you are not using help of a professional Vancouver moving company, you should arrange for boxes yourself and start packing. A packing strategy is necessary and should be adopted while packing every wardrobe box.

Put in all your jeans, shoes and belts in your wardrobe before the moving day. When your moving day has arrived, fill in the base of the box with all the shopping bags that contain some other clothes and apparel. After filling up the base, pack all the hanging clothes tightly so they do not swing from one side to the other while moving. Make sure that you cover your hanging clothes with dry cleaning bags or plastic so they do not get smelly or get in contact with dust.
