Squamish is a community and a district municipality in the Canadian province of British Columbia, located at the north end of Howe Sound on the Sea to Sky Highway. The population of Squamish – including First Nation reserves of the Squamish Nation not governed by the municipality – is 17,158.

Squamish is known as the “Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada.” A huge variety of outdoor activities are at the front door of the community. It is renowned as a world-class location for such activities as windsurfing and kiteboarding, rock climbing, and mountain biking.
Squamish hosts many local provincial parks, rivers, with its oceanfront and mountainside community’s rich railway, mining, and forestry history.
