Port Coquitlam is a city in British Columbia, Canada, located 27 km (17 mi) east of Vancouver, at the confluence of the Fraser River and the Pitt River.

Port Coquitlam is often referred to as “PoCo.”, and it is not to be confused with the adjacent and larger Coquitlam. Population of  Port Coquitlam was estimated at around 55,958 in 2016 Census.

Port Coquitlam’s climate is classified as warm and temperate, with a significant amount of rainfall during the year, even during the driest months. In Port Coquitlam, the average annual temperature is 9.8 °C and about 1461 mm of precipitation falls annually.

Port Coquitlam was originally mostly farmland, however, because of the densification and expansion of Vancouver, it has become dense with suburban housing, especially in the northern and southwestern areas of the city.

The economy has been diversified with a variety of industrial and commercial developments, including metal fabrication, high technology industries, and transportation.
