New Westminster is a historically important city in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada, located on the right bank of the Fraser River, on the southwest side of the Burrard Peninsula and roughly at the centre of the Greater Vancouver region. “New West” is western Canada’s oldest city and was BC’s first capital.
