Maple Ridge is a city in British Columbia, located in the northeastern section of Metro Vancouver between the Fraser River and the Golden Ears, a group of mountain summits which are the southernmost of the Garibaldi Ranges of the Coast Mountains.

Population of Maple Ridge was estimated as 76,052 in 2011 Census.

Maple Ridge has a mild temperate coastal rainforest climate, similar to other communities in Metro Vancouver. The average daily temperature in July is 17.5°C/63.5°F, and the average daily temperature is 1.8°C/35.2°C in January.

Economy and Employment.

Forestry companies continue to be the largest private-sector employers in the district. They include Interfor and companies that manufacture building materials, yachts and poles.

The soil and climate are not well-suited to the production of traditional food crops, but the Maple Ridge agriculture sector generates significant revenues from berry crops, nurseries and horse breeding.
