Whether a moving company in Lower Mainland, BC will be helping you with your relocation or not, it is important to pack your furniture appropriately so that it reaches your new home safely.

Being prepared for packing and remaining organized is the best advice that will help you in packing and moving the furniture safely without taking on a lot of stress.

Following are some steps that must be followed to pack furniture efficiently before moving.

1. Make a list

The first important step of packing the furniture is making a list of all the furniture pieces that will be moved. This will keep you organized and will also help you keep track of your furniture when it reaches your new place.

This list will also indicate how much packing material you will need.

2. Clean and clear

Before packing the furniture make sure that you clean it. Do some dusting and clear the things that are inside your furniture. If it is a book shelf, remove all the books and pack those books in smaller boxes.

3. Disassemble

Large furniture cannot be moved in its original form. Large furniture pieces such as beds and large dining tables will have to be disassembled into smaller parts so that they can fit in the moving vehicle. This will also help make the loading and unloading process easier.

Once you have reached your new place, you can then assemble the furniture again in the desired room to bring it back to its original form.

4. Wrap the furniture and use boxes

Once the furniture is disassembled, wrap it in packing material or bubble wrap so that the furniture does not get scratches in the process. Once the bubble wrap is wrapped, use a tape to secure the packing.

Disassembled furniture often gets smaller and such parts can be packed in boxes. Find the boxes of appropriate sizes and put the furniture in them. Label the boxes as well before loading them on the moving vehicle so that you do not forget where to find the missing pieces of the furniture.
